Role Summary:
Given the responsibility and level of this role candidates should be educated to degree level and ideally have successfully achieved the Legal Practice Course, with at least 6 months of experience (ideally within Corporate or other Commercial Departments). It is essential that candidates have experience and are capable of handling client matters, familiar with modern practices and have a commercial outlook. 


Daily duties will involve developing and managing a small caseload under close supervision, supporting other fee earners within the Corporate team with an aim of progressing client matters and managing client expectations. Candidates will be commercially aware, have good client care skills, an eye for detail and knowledge of document and case management systems. The candidate will be required to deliver excellent client service in dealing with a wide range of duties. 
 

This will include:

  • Carrying out due diligence and disclosure work on transactions
  • Dealing with company secretarial work
  • Writing legal updates
  • Preparing bundles
  • Billing and credit control
  • Legal Research
  • Managing client relations

 

You will be required to support the team with a high degree of competence with the ability to work to strict deadlines with the Client at the very forethought of everything you undertake. You will also be required to work from your own initiative and as part of a team and also take direction and delegation from the Head of Department.
From time to time you may be required that you travel nationally to attend clients and be prepared to do so at short notice should the need arise.
You must be committed to and enthusiastic about specialising in Corporate law.
