My client are a thriving, longstanding business who are a market leader in their field. They are seeking a Product Category Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.

Reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for the strategic management of the product portfolio, optimizing the assortment, pricing and promotion of products to maximise sales and profitability, retaining the market leading range in the sector.
 
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Understand and develop analytical data for product sales and performance to make data-driven decisions, highlight and exploit key trends, and continuously optimize category strategies.
  • Conduct regular range reviews, managing the product lifecycle, communicating these decisions to all relevant stakeholders, and implementing and monitoring the impact of those decisions.
  • Strive to understand market dynamics, customer preference and competitive pressures to identify growth opportunities and develop category strategies.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, suppliers, sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for product, product assortment, pricing, promotions and digital merchandising.
  • Work with Product Specialist to develop and rationalise product portfolio with particular emphasis on the Specialist Crafts brand, ensuring the range continues to be creative, competitive and market leading.
  • Building relationships and networking with suppliers, customers and artists to support ongoing product development.
  • Work alongside Product Specialist to ensure product data is correct across the range.
Category Product Manager - The Candidate
  • A highly self-motivated individual with strong experience in category management and /or product management related activities.
  • At least 3 years in a category management role or similar.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Proven experience in building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Creative and out of the box thinking with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team to achieve objectives, driving personal accountability.
  • Demonstratable ability to present, influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Works to tight deadlines and the ability to juggle priorities.
  • Ability to analyse, collect and present data and information.
  • Self-driven, results orientated and a positive outlook with the desire to keep developing personally and professionally.
  • Champions collaborative working within and across functions to deliver business objectives and advocate an ethos of strong team spirit.
  • Has a proactive and organized approach to workload and approaches all tasks with professionalism and energy.
