Job Description

My client are a leading organisation based in Long Eaton. They are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role although candidates requiring slight flexibility will be considered. 
Accounts Assistant - The Role
  • Set up all new Purchase & Sales Ledger accounts, to include credit reference checks and VAT numbers.
  • Create all Export ECOM invoices.
  • Collate UK and Export picking notes / invoices / acknowledgements, ready to mail out.
  • Ensuring that all BACS payments are posted to Yorkshire Bank for authorisation.
  • Post all Export Sales Ledger cash and enter onto the relevant spreadsheet(s) prior to balancing.
  • Post all UK & Export Paypal cash entries.
  • Reconciliation of invoices to statements and making payments to Suppliers.
  • Ensure all UK delivery notes and invoices are reconciled to include the correct nominal code prior to posting on Sage, with specific date deadlines being met.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of all Company credit card accounts and cash expenses.
  • Responsible for petty cash – both Sterling and foreign currencies.
  • Ordering of all stationery items, including ink cartridges and paper supplies.
  • Milk monitor / janitorial supplies monitor for the office.
  • General ad-hoc accounting duties.
Accounts Assistant - The Candidate:
  • We are looking for an Accounts Assistant with experience in a similar role.
  • You will be self motivated and able to work with initiative.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
