Credit Controller


Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for a dynamic Credit Controller to join our team and be responsible for collecting in payments due to the business. The role is very varied so organisation is key, the ledger has a selection of customers ranging from small proforma accounts to some of our bigger key customers and no 2 days will be the same. We are looking for a team player to work closely with colleagues towards being a first-class accounts department.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Daily cash allocation & update target spreadsheet
  • Releasing / Chasing Next Day sales orders that are credit held
  • Releasing / Chasing Next Day sales orders pending prepayment
  • Releasing delivery run orders on credit hold for Transport team 
  • Chasing customer accounts by phone and email 
  • Emails - Actioning & filing in a shared accounts mailbox alongside your own 
  • Taking credit card payments & allocating to the system 
  • Ensuring all suspense accounts are reconciled on a regular basis
  • Invoice query resolution with other internal departments
  • Review & maintain credit limits within guidelines of insurance or discretionary limits
  • Escalating any accounts to legal, on stop status with Credit Control Manager in review
  • Opening of new customer accounts
  • Updating price list changes
  • Raising Ad-Hoc credit notes to resolve invoice / customer service queries
  • Liaising with Sales Agent team and Sales Manager on a regular basis
  • Customer Maintenance - Accounts closing/reopening amending dimensions
  • Proforma Maintenance - Amending orders, chasing payment and cancelling orders
  • Drive efficiencies within the Credit Control area of the business and support the wider team. 
  • Any task deemed necessary or pertinent to the smooth running of the accounts department may be required. This list is inclusive but not limited to the above tasks.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven track record in a similar role
  • Natural Communicator
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organised and postive approach to your work
  • Excellent I.T. Skills including Excel 
  • Previous use of Microsoft Dynamics Navision would be a distinct advantage
